Foreword for Muslims — In the Name of the Most Merciful
1 We begin with mercy, as you do, for compassion is the key to every door.
2 Justice and care are twin duties; the orphan and the traveler are our teachers.
3 We honor the trust — to speak truth, keep promises, and return what is due.
4 We confess: people used religion to divide what mercy joined. We will not.
5 Bring your salaam; help us make a table where the hungry are guests first.
