Foreword for Christians — At the Hearth of Love
1 We begin with love, because Love began with us: patient, kind, not proud.
2 We will not argue creeds here; we will practice Sermon-on-the-Mount ethics in public.
3 We admit our history: zeal burned where mercy should have baked bread.
4 Let us learn from martyrs and builders, from Jesus who washed feet and broke bread with enemies.
5 Bring your faith; keep your conscience; add your hands to the work of mending.
